Welcome to the Paul McLenaghan & Son / Chimney Scotland web site.  We are a small family team trading under the above name for over 35 years situated in the Lothians just outside Edinburgh from which we are well positioned to cover the Borders, West Lothian, Lanarkshire, Fife, Perthshire and Stirlingshire.  In fact we have carried out works as far distant from the Highlands and Islands to Lincolnshire for National Trust and private conservation bodies.
 

Our work covers a wide range of services to the industry as well as to private clients. These include chimney design, construction / installation, flue lining, chimney maintenance and repair from full structural refurbishment to the replacement of chimney pots. Advice along with installation of woodburning stoves and multifuel stoves can also be provided..

We are able to carry out chimney surveys at a number of levels from the pre-installation of stoves or for newly purchased properties where a certificate can be issued as a point of reference to a full CCTV or invasive survey.  Chimney surveys are regularly carried out on behalf of insurance companies, architects and principle contractors prior to works and for the purposes of arbitration.
 

Not only are we experienced in working with brick built bungalows, Georgian townhouses and properties many centuries old where sheep would have been roasted on the spit !  but we are fully conversant with modern chimney and flue construction products along with current building requirements.
 

We are current members of the National Association of Chimney Engineers (NACE), Heating Equipment Testing and Approval Scheme (HETAS), Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), trained and qualified by the Scottish Lime Centre.
